FAQs
How should I clean my kitchen knives?
When cleaning kitchen knives, the best thing a person can do is keep
them out of the dishwasher. Because the water jets in a dishwasher can
cause the silverware to pound each other and scratch each other, it
is better if the knives are instead washed in the sink. It is best to
not use detergent. Mild soap is good for cutlery because it does not
remove any of the silver finish that might be on the knives.
How can I keep my knives sharp?
There are two schools of thinking. Buy an electronic knife sharpener.
This is the quickest way to sharpen a knife. On the other hand, many
people prefer to sharpen their knives with a stone. People who sharpen
their knives manually often find that the knife gets sharper when sharpened
by hand. Also, it is easier to sharpen a blade evenly by doing a manual
sharpening.
Where is the best place to keep my cutlery?
The answer to this question depends on the circumstances of the home.
Many people find that keeping the cutlery in a cutlery block is convenient
and safe. When there are children in the home, it is best to keep the
cutlery away from the children. As long as the block is pushed back
far enough on the counter, a child should not typically be able to access
it.
On the other hand, if there are not children in the home, some people
prefer to use clear sleeves in which the knives can be placed inside
of kitchen drawers. These sleeves allow a person to see which knives
are which. They also protect the knives from scratching one another.
