Cutlery Holder
Making a cutlery holder at home can be a fun, inexpensive
craft that is also functional.
• Take the adhesive paper from the ends – It is important
that if there is any glue residue left that it be wiped off as well.
Dirty spools can be cleaned by washing them in soapy water. The spools
should be completely dry before a person moves on to the next step.
• Select stains – If a person is going to use paint or
stains on the thread, he or she should choose colors that will complement
each other and the kitchen. It might be wise to test the paint to see
if it dries as the same color expected. Placing some polyurethane on
the paint can help it to retain its color.
• Line the spools up in a straight row. Each spool should touch
the spools next to it. There should be approximately three inches on
either side of the rack for it to be completely centered.
• Screw the spools together – Each spool should be screwed
to those spools next to it. After this is done, the knives can simply
be slipped into the slots in between the spools. Doing this will not
only create a cutlery holder that is functional, but also one that is
interesting to look at.
